Whelp it’s that time of the year again. I remember when I was in school how at this point of the year for some crazy reason I was actually looking forward to school just to see my friends that I hadn’t seen in a while knowing that in like a week I’d be counting down the days until summer.
My wish for you all though is that you enjoy every part of this school year. Make this year the best year you’ve ever had. How do you do that? Here are some easy steps:
1) Just be yourself. I heard it a thousand times and I know you have heard it a thousand times. Honestly this only applies to you if you are the kid who stays in your shell. That was me. I didn’t come out of my shell until senior year and I wish I had done it sooner. I made so many friends, participated in so much more, and honestly had the best year of school ever.
2) Say to yourself every once in a while, “hakuna matata”. If you are the one person who has never seen The Lion King then I’ll let you know that “hakuna matata” means “no worries”. There are going to be days when you want to come home and barry your head in your pillow. Maybe it’ll be because of a teacher, friend, school work, a boy, a girl, your parents, or whatever. The point is that God talks about worry a lot in the Bible and He’s right when he says that worrying can’t add a single day to your life.
3) Be courageous. This is the most important one and the one I will be praying for you the most. Without you’ll never succeed in the first 2 steps. Remember that God is with you and that He is all for you. He is your biggest fan as much as you are His. He wants to see you experience so much and have the best.
New International Version (NIV)
6 Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the Lord your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you.”
This school year is going to change your life. You are going to experience ups and downs. Just remember that with these 3 things you can’t go wrong. I wish you the best and will be praying for you
